Before and After: The Fall

Before and After:The Fall was a unique collaboration between the dancer and choreographer Michael Clark and the sculptor Sarah Lucas. Close friends for some time they had long discussed a collaboration and together they created a work with choreography by Michael and costumes by Sarah and a large mobile sculpture by Sarah on stage. .

Before and After: The Fall had it's world premiere at the Hebbel Theatre in Berlin on 17 August 2001 and it's London premiere at Sadler's Wells on 24 October 2001 as part of a European and UK tour of The Michael Clark Company

Before and After:The fall was co-produced by the Hebbel Theatre Berlin, Fondazione RomaEuropa, Danceworks Sheffield, Dance Umbrella and Theatre National de Chaillot Paris

The collaboration and the fabrication of the Sarah Lucas sculpture was supported by The Felix Trust for Art and Sadie Coles HQ as well as the support of St John restaurant

The Michael Clark Company is supported by the Arts Council of England and the Barbican.
